Traditional symbols blend with modern elements, suggesting that empowerment is rooted both in heritage and progress. Every canvas honors the emotional labor of mothers and the courage of women who rise despite challenges.
More than visual art, the artist’s work is a message: mothers are the foundation of society, and empowered women are agents of change. By celebrating their strength, compassion, and identity, the paintings invite viewers to recognize, respect, and uplift women everywhere.
GIRLS ARE TOO CLINGY
- AMBA-ENIGHE OKOYE
The label “clingy” is often unfairly used to describe girls who express care, affection, or emotional openness in relationships. This misconception reduces genuine human connection to a flaw, ignoring the fact that wanting communication, reassurance, or closeness is a natural emotional need—not a weakness.
Many so-called “clingy” behaviors are actually signs of empathy, loyalty, and emotional investment. Society tends to praise emotional distance while criticizing those who value connection, especially when women openly express their feelings. This double standard teaches girls to suppress their emotions rather than understand and communicate them in healthy ways.
In reality, what is often labeled as clinginess is usually a mismatch in emotional needs or communication styles. Instead of judging, relationships benefit more from honesty, boundaries, and mutual understanding. Reframing this misconception allows us to see emotional expression not as dependency, but as a strength rooted in care and authenticity.
